Introducing Verona Jones

My name is Verona Jones, and up until recently, I have written mostly poetry. I've been busy applying the skills and lessons I've obtained from school to hone my writing skills. I'm learning to be more a Creative Writer and I'm using this portfolio to show my writing journey.

I'm also a Celtic Witch, so I'm also interested in anything Celtic. I read about Celtic history and play Celtic music. My writing is influenced by my beliefs and I love to intertwine that history into my stories.

I have a BA in English with a history minor and an MA in Creative Writing - Emphasis on Fiction writing.

I've written poetry for years, but it wasn't until later in my  life while attending the Santa Fe University of Art and Design  I  started writing fiction.  It was while I was  interning  with an online magazine called the Santa Fe Literary News that my love for writing really sparked.  Slowly gaining confidence in my writing abilities I'm pursuing my dreams of being a writer.

Literary Influences

I am a die hard Stephen King and Dean Koontz fan, but I also loves Jennifer Ashley, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and Keri Arthur. Not even horror related, but I also loves Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.

I love to write horror stories with paranormal influences interwoven with myth and legends. I especially like to write  stories where the bad guy gets their just rewards in the end.  As they say, Karma is a bitch.

I love the supernatural and paranormal and I love writing about both topics. I love to incorporate urban legends into scary spooky stories.

I don't have a subject/topic preference to write about. Right now, I write about whatever catches my fancy. Short Stories, Flash Fiction or Poetry.

Other Interests

I'm interested in Astrology, Tarot, and Witchcraft and Magick. If I find something interesting to write about either topic then a either a short story or article will appear on that subject.
